| January 1955 | Sugimoto Co., Ltd. (capital: 1 million JPY) is founded in Wakayama City and begins selling dyeing materials in Kinki and Shikoku regions in Japan. |

Begins selling wire drawing lubricants to many companies in Japan, for example, Kobe Steel, Yawata Iron and Steel, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Tokyo Rope Manufacturing, and Kawasaki Steel. |
| August 1962 | Sugimoto Chemical Industries Co., Ltd. is founded in Uzu, Wakayama City and starts manufacture of metal soaps, wire drawing lubricants, and textile in Kurusu, Wakayama City. |
